drive pure, but a perfectly executed short game shot is arguably just as pleasurable.\u00a0 What\u2019s less of a debate is that precise play from 100 yards and in and from situations around the green are where the majority of strokes are saved.\u00a0 The new Cleveland RTX ZipCore wedge makes both full swings from green-light distance in the fairway and greenside shots out of sand and rough a joy to hit.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/pluggedingolf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Cleveland-RTX-Zipcore-3-e1598023157507.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full look\u00a0<em>good.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>The design is\u00a0<strong>clean and modern<\/strong>.\u00a0 In the bag, they are eye-catchers.\u00a0 The satin chrome finish has a classic look and doesn\u2019t reflect sunlight the way some chrome finishes do.<\/p>\n<p>At address, the shape exists in\u00a0<strong>the Goldilocks zone<\/strong>.\u00a0 The blade length is not too long or too short, the toe is not too high.\u00a0 The leading edge has just the subtlest amount of curvature.\u00a0 It\u2019s everything you would expect from Cleveland, and looking down at it inspires confidence.<\/p>\n<p><a \u2018click\u2019.\u00a0 I\u2019ve hit forged wedges that come off with a higher pitched sound and cast wedges that have a much lower, dull \u2018thwack\u2019.\u00a0 For me, the sound is very nice.<\/p>\n<p>When struck well,\u00a0<strong>the feel is as pure as it gets<\/strong>.\u00a0 Less than ideal strikes feel, well, less than ideal.\u00a0 If that might be construed by some as a lack of forgiveness, I view it as valuable feedback.\u00a0 This is a blade-style wedge, after all.\u00a0 For those seeking added forgiveness, I had a great experience testing the Cleveland CBX 2 (<a but\u00a0<strong>if your wedges aren\u2019t saving you strokes, you probably don\u2019t have the right clubs in the bag<\/strong>.\u00a0 Are there several key factors that go into determining the right wedge for you?\u00a0 Of course.\u00a0 But, based on my experience and my self-identification as an everyman golfer, I think the RTX ZipCore will fill that void for many players.<\/p>\n<p>The RTX ZipCore performed well for me right away.\u00a0 During a round with thoroughly sub-par ball-striking, my wedges bailed me out time and time again.\u00a0 With an open-faced spinner from the fringe, with an explosion from a greenside bunker, with a hole-out for birdie from 65 yards after punching back into the fairway following an errant drive,\u00a0<strong>these wedges repeatedly saved my bacon<\/strong>\u00a0and gave me something to hang my hat on at the end of the day.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/pluggedingolf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Cleveland-RTX-Zipcore-5-e1598023340199.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-78622 peak,\u00a0<strong>it\u2019s<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>important to select the right grind<\/strong>.\u00a0 The RTX ZipCore has three options: Low, Mid, and Full.\u00a0 Because I tend to leave shallow divots with my full strikes, I chose the Low grind for the higher lofted wedges and it proved to be the right choice.\u00a0 With heel and toe relief, it\u2019s proven to be remarkably easy to open up It\u2019s nice to see Cleveland paying more attention to the shaft that goes into its premium wedges and providing a stock offering that represents a step up from what has typically been available from big OEMs in the past.\u00a0 Swinging it\u00a0<strong>feels remarkably smooth and stable<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/pluggedingolf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Cleveland-RTX-Zipcore-2-e1598023128575.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-78619
